Watch out Vinings, Walk It Out is coming...

What's up bloggers and bloggettes?

First off, I'd like to update everyone on our nasty flash floods of last week. ATL was slightly out of commission for a few days but, as usual, we bounced back strong and are floating (no pun intended) right along. Walk It Out would like to send its prayers to all of those who were displaced or inconvenienced by the pseudo natural disaster. A little did you know: standard homeowners insurance DOES NOT cover flooding. Not that it happens a lot in this area but it might be something for us all to consider. Fool me once...

Now on to the exciting part of the blog, Walk It Out news! Google maps is a very powerful tool for helping businesses attract customers and we can attest to that. Remember that call I mentioned a few blogs back where the guy claimed to have found us on Google? Well, I received another one and this time it turned into a new client! He called on Friday and we walked his dog on Sunday afternoon and Monday morning--boom boom POW. New customer + a great review + referrals in West Village (Vinings) = Walk It Out in your face!

A little update for you kiddies. We are about 12 days away from going full time with Walk It Out and will be exhibiting at the Ahimsa House Walk n' Wag on October 10th from 9am-12noon (before college football starts) at Lenox Park in Buckhead. If you have the time, come on out. Bring your dog, bring a friend, bring a smile and, heck, bring the next member of the Walk It Out family. Also, another update for the people, I have decided NOT to take ownership of a puppy this month. After careful consideration and deliberation, it is best for myself, and Walk It Out, that I save all of my K-9 lovin' for our clients. Thoughts?

Anyways, I'm all done here. Everyone enjoy your week and love one another. And if you get a chance, leave a comment and/or click the follow box updates on new Walk It Out blogs.

Blog ya later!

It rained, then it rained somemore, then it flooded and rained again...

Seasons greetings bloggies!

Today is the first day of Fall and, apparently, the beginning of monsoon season as well. As you probably all know, it has been raining in Atlanta for the past 10 days. Yep, that's right, count 'em, 10 days!!! Not only has the rain caused school closings, road damage and flash flooding, it has also prevented everyone's favorite dog walker to Walk It Out. While its bad for business, it doesn't also have to be bad for your dog. There are many alternatives that are just as great for your loved one and not nearly as wet.

Ok, enough with the somber news, on to the exciting stuff. Walk It Out is now Walk It Out, LLC! Boom boom POW we're official as of September 16, 2009. You might be thinking, "what exactly does that change?" Answer: no one can swagger-jack our uber cool name in the state of Georgia. Yeah, there are some legal points as well (taxes, business accounts, insurance, yada yada) but name ownership is by far the coolest. Another tidbit for you die-hard Walk It Out followers, I am considering getting another little puppy of my own. It was been 2 years since I've taken care of my own little one and I'm taking suggestions on what type I should go for. I will be going the rescue route (probably this Friday) from the Atlanta Humane Society. Take a look and let me know what you think!

With the sun being out all day, I'll leave you with this....

"I think I'll go for a walk outside now, the summer sun's callin my name (I hear ya now)..."

A busy day in the world of Walk It Out

G'mornin kids!

For a dog walker with only a few (0k, maybe 1) consistent client, I am super busy today. A guy, let's call him "Mike" (and we're calling him that because he told me that was his name) called me today to inquire about Walk It Out! How exciting is that?!? Considering that our website isn't up yet and that our only real presence is via word of mouth, social networking (Facebook & Twitter), the Google Local listing and this totally awesome blog, I'm way stoked that I got a call.

So Mike asked me questions about pricing, liability, services provided and company history. After thinking about it, he could have been calling from Google in order to do some verification of the business. Or maybe even another local dog walking service that has heard of us. Either way, the word is out and that is exciting. I really think we're going to hit the ground running in October. If not, please refer back to this blog post as the beginning of "the curse" or the "jinx".

Anyways, I think Walk It Out will be licensed, insured and bonded by the end of this week, which is very important. So much to do, so much to do...

And with that I'm all done with this post. Love each other...y'all!!!

Popping up all over Atlanta

Good morning out there in the blog-isphere. Here's a little update on what we've been up to the past few days. Walk It Out was in attendance at the 5th Annual Beer & Whiskey Festival over Labor Day Weekend. The event was co-sponsored by PAWS Atlanta, which is the largest and oldest NO-KILL animal shelter in the metro Atlanta area. Very fun event for a very good cause. In 2 weeks we'll be throwing the 1st Walk It Out in The Park event. This is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, September 27th @ Piedmont Park. It will be a fun day for all WIO fans to come out with their dogs and meet the WIO team and other WIO patrons. Details coming soon. Also, we will be a vendor sponsor at the Ahimsa House Walk n' Wag on Saturday, October 10th @ Lenox Park in Buckhead. There will be food, prizes, entertainment, demonstrations and tons of doggy fun so bring your little one! Until next time...
